This Privacy Policy describes how Orka ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Orka mobile application (the "App").

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Account Information: When you sign in with Apple, we receive your name and email address (if you choose to share it). You may also use the App without an Apple account.
• Learning Data: Words you save, flashcard review results, mastery levels, and learning preferences you select during onboarding (e.g., learning goals, practice frequency).

Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Statistics: We collect aggregated usage data such as the number of videos watched, words saved, flashcard reviews, learning streaks, and last active date.
• Device Information: We may collect basic device information necessary for the functioning of the App, such as device type and operating system version.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the App's core functionality (vocabulary saving, flashcard reviews, progress tracking).
• Sync your learning data across sessions and devices.
• Process subscriptions and in-app purchases.
• Generate word explanations and translations using artificial intelligence.
• Improve the App and develop new features.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the App:

• Apple Sign In: For authentication. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase: For secure cloud storage of your account and learning data. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat: For managing subscriptions and in-app purchases. Subject to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
• OpenAI: For generating word explanations. The text of words you look up is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Authentication tokens are stored locally in the device Keychain. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete all your data at any time from the App's settings (Profile > Delete All Data). Upon deletion, your vocabulary, statistics, and progress are permanently removed from our servers.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request deletion of your data (available in-app or by contacting us).
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
